My (Dutch) other half has just introduced me to the work of the Dutch artist Escher - link http://www.mcescher.nl/ - because he thought it was good inspiration for a quilt (bless him - Sooooo supportive and encouraging!). I am really intrigued by the idea of making the positve/negative images in fabric and it must be possible?!

Any ideas or advice how to go about it gratefully received!

    Cheers all,
    K3n x

Here is a link that has a little about tessellating designs, you can google it and it brings up quite a bit.

k3n, here's a site where you can design yout own tessellations. http://gwydir.demon.co.uk/jo/tess/tess.htm There are many fascinating things, not to mention great design possibilities, there, so have fun exploring the entire site. Here's the site index http://gwydir.demon.co.uk/jo/tess/index.htm

And here's another to explore http://www.tessellations.org/tess-site-map.htm
                and another http://library.thinkquest.org/16661/index2.html
                and one more http://www.zianet.com/breynold/tessel/tessel.html
Needless to say, I use tessellations often in my quilts and love to play with them. Have fun!!
