fabric for 4PP,OBW, or S&W

I have several yards of this fabric. The true color does not show in the picture well ,it is bright black and white with a tough of red. It is a little too youg looking for my taste. I was wonderind how it would look for a 4 patch posie , stack and wack or OBW. the repeats are 12.5 inches.

I think, though, that the end result wouldn't vary much from what it looks like now. iow, a bunch of great B&W graphics with a touch of red. Which is pretty much what you've got.
It would look great, but that's a lot of work to get something pretty close to the original fabric.
And even if you take the mirrors and see great images, the whole quilt would be pretty much the same thing - in terms of color, value and shapes.
But if you have no other plans for the fabric, and want to experiment with the technique, give it a try. ;-)

Thanks, saved myself a lot of unnecessary work. So you should use a fabric with more shades of color I take it. I may have some florals I can practice with. I may just sell this , It is pretty but really not me the more I look at it.

You want a fabric with multiple contrasts - in colors, values, and shapes.
It really doesn't matter what's on the pattern in terms of florals, or houses, or fish because those will disappear when you start cutting.
And a great fabric for this technique might not be your first choice, but you have to look at the elements. Again, color, value, shapes.
It's always about the contrasts. ;-)

I'd be hesitant on it ... though I'd try the mirror trick, as suggested.
It doesn't fit the "rules" but look at this 4PP ... if AlikiGirl had followed them, we wouldn't have seen this beauty.

So I'm thinking ... it just may work!
You could test it the way I did the other night ... cut a strip just the width of one block, the length of the selvedge and layer the pieces. That'll give you a first few to know if you like the look ... and not have ruined the big piece of fabric.
