how good are you at binding? If you are good and it is clean and straight, then the light one would set it off perfectly. If you have any doubts about your handiwork, the darker one will blend in and any oops's will not be noticed.

I definitely would go for the darker, I don't care for a very light binding as it seems to get dirty faster than the rest of a quilt.

I prefer the binding to match the outside border (most of the time).
