Does anyone or has anyone used satin, lining, suiting and polyester material all non stretch for quilting? I have alot of this material and am wondering what to use it for.

Yes to all. Satin makes great trapunto, as well as silk. Is tricky to use, but very much worth the result. Upholstery fabrics make excellent pet quilts because they are strong, as well as quilts to be used outdoors to sit on. I don't want my very expensive cotton used for that.

Here is an example of trapunto, additional batting is added to the trapunto areas.

I just put together some blocks that I found in a Carol Doak book. Just block patterns - not stocking patterns. In the plain (white) areas I used gold thread for hand quilting. Don't have them anymore or I would post a picture. I also use satins, etc. for covering piping cord or sashings when I want to dress things up a bit.
