Default Fabric/Quilt Shops

I will be visiting in the Orange Beach AL and Pensacola FL area. Anyone know of any good fabric shops or quilt stores in the area? Thank you in advance.

If we don't have any members in those areas, check on google and see what is listed in both cities. Have FUN!

In Pensacola you must must must stop in to A&E Pharmacy! Half pharmacy and half fabric store. Lots and lots of bolts of fabric, everything from quilting cottons, baticks, minky, flannels, you name it. Also fancy fabrics, wide backings, lots of notions, books. Look for the numbers on the ends of the bolts, sales are based on the age of the bolts. Great help, great shop!

Someone just told me a couple days ago about A & E Pharmacy in Pensacola. It's apparently no longer a pharmacy but a huge fabric shop. It was highly recommended.

Linda and I were replying at the same time! I guess the pharmacy is still there. I remember Bonnie Hunter praising it on her blog a few months ago.

If you want to look at gadgets go to Martelli. They are in Pensacola on W street I think. And I second A & E. You can't miss that place. If you plan to buy a lot, ask about their club or frequent shopper program. It was cost effective for us because we spent (I think) around $200.

Yes the pharmacy is there at A&E, in fact if you just walk thru the front door all you will see is pharmacy. Just go to the left and voila, fabric and more fabric. If you are by chance there today 5/14 they are having Kim Brackett sign her new book (she's from this area) and demonstrations of various things. Thursday they were rearranging to make room for more fabric which makes it fun for us locals. It highlights fabrics we may have missed before.

Lived in Pensacola 30 odd years, A & E was there all that time and is still going strong. Also when in orange beach go north up hwy 59 to Fabrics by the Pound. It's up around Springdale or summer dale area I believe. It is also huge and full of fabric, good prices. Have a good trip.
