They don't ship or have a website, they don't even take credit cards.

The fabric store is called Kimono House, it is on the second floor of the China World Mall which is located at:

677 Chakphet Road, Wang Burapha Phirom, Phra Nakhon, Bangkok10200 . I have a telephone number but I doubt if anyone there speaks English. It is a factory outlet type of mall.

Thanks for the info, Valerie! My son lives (Bk) there so perhaps one day I'll manage a visit. Did you ever come across any shops that sold handbag hardware? (D-rings, twist locks, that kind of thing)

Penang Lane in Chinatown also has a lot of fabric shops that carry 100% cotton, that too is where one would go for notions and zippers/handbag hardware etc - there are separate shops for notions, shops for fabrics. Bring an extra suitcase for fabric, I bought 55 yards, price and quality were just too good to pass up. Also the Jim Thompson Factory outlet is worth a visit, for silk and cotton yardage and ready made articles such as clothing, cushion covers etc.

Check the price of shipping first. I received a small pack of fabric from an exchange student and it cost her over $30 us to send it to me. She is from Bangkok. I really cherish all the fabric I got from her.

Sort of makes you wonder where all the money goes when it sells for $1.95 a yard there and $15.00 a yard here! I guess everybody gets a piece of the action, eh?

Wow! My son is currently stationed in Japan, and I have begged for some fabric.

Lucky you. At that price you wouldn't mind paying extra for being over the baggage limit.
