On a page from a quilt shop, I saw quilts hanging in a unique way. Looks like the quilts were gathered some how...maybe on a ring. Top of the quilt looked like it was folded into a fan and the rest of the quilt just hung. Really pretty.

Anyone know what I'm talking about and where to get one, two, three?

I saw them on an episode of Simply Quilts years ago, but if you do a Google search for quilt hangers you might find something. If not maybe you can find a wood worker that could make them. I think they would be a hot item to sell at craft fairs or quilt shows because the quilts wouldn't need the wall space to display them. I think for those of us who are challenged to find spaces for quilts they would be a good solution.

Go to robinsonswoodcrafts.com. they have several different types of hangers like you described. I am fortunate to have a woodworker in my area that does this and sells them at quilt shows.

I think what you're remembering is a simple square "frame" made of four pieces of lumber about a half inch thick and about 3 or 4 inches wide...build the square so that the four sides form a center hole large enough to fit the folded quilt thru. the final hanger will have a solid front/sides/'back, with the half inch edges at the top and bottom of the unit.. if you're into country decorating, I've seen many similar hangars built with hearts attached to the front of the box,,,or a wooden bow, etc. It would be easy for someone to make with limited woodworking tools.

Hope this makes sense.

I have two of my quilts hanging in those, they were really popular several years ago. Mine has a heart for the back board, then 2 (looks like 4" wide by 4" long) pieces nailed to that straight out. They look to be about 4" apart. Then a wooden bow fixed on those 2 ends. You take one end of your quilt and pleat it accordian like and push it up thru those 2 pieces and fan it out at the top. I know this sounds strange, but I don't know how to post a pic. and don't know how to get pics from camera to comp. Hope this helps/.

Could you post a picture of one of your quilts hanging on the hanger? I don't know what they look like, but would be interested in seeing them. Thanks.
