Fat Quater Patterns
I've just gotten a couple of collections of fat quarters I have been envying for a while now. Yellow Brick Road is the pattern I plan on using, but surely there are more good fat quarter patterns that could beautifully display my new goodies. I found and way overpaid for "Winter's Grandeur" by Robert Kaufman and silk/ cotton fat quarters called "Radiance" in pastel and jewel tones, also by Kaufman. The Radiance are beautiful solids and the Winter Grandeur pieces have metallic with a panel included. The more I get into this "hobby", the more I find and love, and to my amazement have spent a small fortune. More than once I have read about "petting" one's stash, I get it now. Now if I realize I don't have to make something out of every piece of fabric I see and like I can spend my energy on actually piecing and quilting. Oh how I love this "hobby " of mine!!!!

One quilt I like is a variation of a crazy quilt. Google crazy quilt patterns and look at the images for patterns. Then just enlarge one you like and lay it on a stack of fat quarters. Cut along the lines, rearrange the different pieces, and sew together. Sashes can even be used between them. Pretty neat looking quilts. I don't add any of the extra stuff, like lace or beads or satin.
Let me see if I can find one I made and add a picture...in case the idea is interesting to you.
