Google Images for City Quilts...a book by Cherri House (a member here, btw). Awesome quilts, perfect for sophisticated men.

Can also be previewed on Amazon.

Try the Curve Masters foot set. Works like magic. In finding the link, I found a review of this foot, mentioning that you can sew a scant 1/4" seam w/it. Going to have to try that. I have not sewn a full quilt w/this foot, but have the templates and the fabric, just need to find the time. My practice drunkards path block went perfectly. Not one pin, and it lays flat. Really amazing!

Glad it worked out for you! I'm sure your brother will love it! (Cherri's user name here on QB is chq in case you ever need it.)

There are also books by Weeks Ringle and Bill Kerr with lots of modern patterns. These make great guy quilts.

Love their books but there are dozens more in the LQ shops. Some shops display them in
a special area 'cause they are all the rage right now.

My DH likes bright colours, so I found a precut pack of 2 1/2" strips, (wasn't a jellyroll), all jeweltone colours, patterned, but no flowers. I used a black border that really made the colours pop. He loves it!!!

Let us know what you end up doing!!

I am trying to attach a pic. My Dh doesn't like quilts, appreciates some but nothing makes him desire one. Well after 10 yrs into my journey through quilting, I found "the fabric" for him, then it took me more than 1 yr to find the pattern. It is very simple, not too "quilty" and he loooves it. Don't get discouraged, something will inspire you to make a quilt he will love and appreciate. Sorry the light is not good, the sashing is white not yellow like it seems.

I, too, am looking for a "man" quilt I can make my son. He wants black fabrics (with white prints on them) and some white fabric (with black print). I love this simple quilt and think it would work good for my son's quilt. What pattern is it? or did you just make it up? I would love to know the name of the pattern or where I can find the pattern. Thanks.
