I love making so many quilt blocks...but have to say that 9-patches are my favorites...so much you can do with them. One of my favorite quilts is a double 9-patch with the blocks set on point.

I would take a look at the quilt gallery on this board:

Scroll thru and see if anything piques your interest.
I know my current favorite is the one I'm working on now!

My last quilt was a log cabin quilt. Originally, I wasn't really into log cabin quilts, but I was making it for someone else so it didn't matter. But as I made the quilt, I feel in love with the way it looked. And the fun part is there is so many ways you can design it and arrange it, the possibilites are endless.

The quilt I always I wanted to make if I ever took up quilting was the Jewel Box. I did and I did - took up quilting and made a Jewel Box in jewels tones on black. I loved it, but then, I loved the Carpenter Star and several others, too.

Although I love them all and have many on my bucket list, my favorite of ones I have done is the One Block Wonder.

My favorite quilt is my first real quilt, a sampler -- it is done with a peach colored background and a brown floral for the appliques/block pieces -- the blocks were all traditional -- I bought an instruction booklet for this sampler quilt and learned as I went -- I would love to make another one!!

I think the one pattern I love the most is a Carpenter's Star. Mariners Compass is also great. Drunkard's Path makes a interesting quilt. Check out Quilter's Cashe, you will find lots of free quilt patterns. Have fun!
