Default Favorite source/link for Block of the Month kits?

I've never done a kitted project, I'm not sure where to even start looking!

I'd like to see lots of choices, but am fond of combined patchwork and applique. and I like big projects.

Or specific kits you really enjoyed doing, or found to be lacking?
Thank you!

Fat Quarter Shop has nice ones, and their fabric each month is very generous. They're at fatquartershop.com.

My LQS has them every year. Maybe you can check around in your area to see if some of the local shops have them. I have done several that use the Thangles. They are fun and cheap too. I enjoy taking my block in each month to pick up the new block. We get to put our name in the jar for prize drawings if we bring our finished block in when we pick up the next one. Good luck on finding one locally.

if you have never done the fabshophop.com, you might want to. The shops there sometimes feature BOM projects. Once you see one that you like, look for it on the other online sites to find the most affordable version you can. quiltshops.com will give you a search engine to type in the name of the BOM you are looking for to quickly identify some shops that carry it. I don't like paying to be able to do a BOM so I'm particular about them if I do one from an online source. Another aspect of learning about all those online websites is that sometimes they carry the BOM as a kit if you don't want to wait the year to wrap up the project. I have never had a problem with BOM via websites. My favorite BOM online site closed down when the owner passed away. I haven't found another that is an online favorite store yet, but I keep trying.... (looking hard at a crazy quilt BOM I spotted via the fabshophop, BTW). Hancock's and JoAnn's have BOM projects, too. Their coupons and sales make them very affordable and if you don't like the fabric they have, use your own chosen line matching color intensity and fabric pattern (small swirl vs large flower, for example) for the contrast needed to make your quilt pop. As Quiltngolfer pointed out, the funnest BOM are always at your local quilt shop because you meet up with others at the training session and can commiserate and/or get out of the house for a while (whichever is more important at the moment, lol). Believe it or not, I really love the quilt challenges that are posted in THIS website. This community is wonderful if you don't have a LQS or guild to participate in a BOM.

I think Shabby Fabrics has one, too. And also Keepsake.

My favorite site for BOM's is craft town fabrics. They have several, and fabric cuts are always generous!

thank you for the specific sites, I've checked them out.
I haven't done the fabshophop in years, that was a good suggestion too, I'm working my way through the list.

any others?
