Default Felting 12 needle machine

Anyone use this machine? I was wondering if you use it for one or two projects or use it a lot? I have the chance to buy one for $100. I probably will buy it, who knows I may really want to felt one day.

I considered it a couple years ago, but it's use is somewhat limited. Quilting cotton doesn't felt well either as the embellishment or the base. You need a material with long fibers to be successful. Wool is the traditional material with wool roving used as the embellishment. I used to make a lot of knit felted bags which is why I was thinking about it. There are lots of YouTube videos. That would probably give you the best idea of its usage.

Some manufacturers, like Bernina, allow you to buy a felting plate and foot so you don't need to buy a machine. Maybe double check if your machine has this option before buying?

I got a felting machine and don't use it much but it is fun to play with sometimes. If you like embellishing things you might really enjoy it.
I did look into the needles for the sewing machine but heard so many negative things about it, mostly the huge amount of lint getting into your sewing machine and damaging things.

Coffeecozy, thanks for the info. I bought it as the price came down to $75. I don't mind experimenting using all types of embellishing with it for that price.

One by one, enjoy. You got a great deal.
If you google machine embellishing you should find some info to get started. Felt is an inexpensive background to practice on.
