Default Festival of quilts (UK)

Just got home from the festival of quilts. Had an awesome time, but my body is aching so much! We barely even managed to get around half of the stalls there, but we've got two day tickets and are going back tomorrow! I managed to get some extra wide backing fabric for my recently finished gfg and it's perfect! I used a bluey/purple batik for some sections of the quilt and then stumbled across the exact same fabric in extra wide! Also bought a few fat quarter bundles and kit to make a bag. Very pleased with my purchases! Just wish that my body didn't let me down so quickly, we had to leave at about 2.30 because my ankles were refusing to go any further so missed out on the last 2 1/2 hours! Oh well, more tomorrow!

What fun! Nothing like finding the perfect fabric for a project.

Can you find a place to get some elastic ankle braces? Hate for you to miss out!! Enjoy!

I was just cursing myself for leaving mine at home! I should have known I'd need them! We're staying in a friend's apartment and the lift is broken, so i'm not sure I could cope with climbing up the stairs to the 4th floor again today (it was a looong climb after an exhausting day!) Hopefully I will last a bit longer tomorrow :-)

I hope your ankles hold up long enough for you to see the rest.

If you could see me know, you'd wonder about my strange green complexion!

I wish I could have gone! Have fun tomorrow! Hope you'll be able to stay longer and see (and buy! ) everything you wanted!

I assume your ankles were hurting from edema. Unfortunately, I know the feeling. Best wishes for a better visit tomorrow.

Great that you found the perfect fabric for your backing. Some quilt shows have booths where you can sit and have your feet or back massaged... it might be worth the $$ if it gave you a few more hours later?

Had a lovely day today! It was a lot less busy today, so nowhere near as many people bumping into me and not even acknowledging that they had! I seemed to spend the whole time yesterday apologizing to people who had walked into me! One lady even dragged me along by my backpack when she was trying to get past me which meant that I then bumped into a whole row of people!
Anyway, enough moans from me! Today I managed to bag a few freebies - the warm co. were giving away craft size warm and white wadding, so as it was me and my mum we got two of those! We also got some free pins with big flat heads from love patchwork & quilting magazine. I also got a free tote bag from a new magazine called quilt now as I signed up for a subscription - they were offering 3 issues for £5 and as each issue is priced at £4.99 I thought it was definitely worth it!
I bought another fabric set for the bag pattern that I bought yesterday and we also bought a few more patterns as they were just so lovely (they were by a company called monkey buttons if you want to check them out!). I also bought an acrylic template set for the storm at sea pattern, as I have always wanted to make one but thought I would struggle with the cutting out!
Came away feeling a lot less pain than yesterday (which may have been because I doubled up on painkillers today!) But still thoroughly worn out! My mum and I are currently sat in our room surrounded by our purchases wondering how we're going to sneak them past my dad when we get home!
