Now, I'm going to go a bit off the color matching idea...have you thought that if you buy solids, any grease or other stain will show immediately and may not come out without special treatment? You might try for a print that has some of the Fiesta ware colors and use that as one side of the placemats. That way, if they do get stained, the print side can be used and the stain won't show as much. I bought a Kona color card years ago and haven't regretted that purchase.

I bought a Kona color card a few years ago and love having it. Of course there are new colors added but it is still very useful. I thought I'd purchase a Bella card, too, but was shocked at the price (approx. $90). I'll just take my chances with the Play Crafts program.

Thank you for all your help! I have purchased a fabric from the Dr Seuss collection with a black background. I will be using the Lines in the Sands modern quilt pattern for placemats using the solid colors for the accents - I am sure it will be the bees knees.

Fabric.com will take returns back with free mailing. I had something that I wanted to match, and I ordered every possible color that looked like it might work in the quantity that I needed, and just returned the ones that didn't work. I spoke to them about it before I did it, and they were fine with that. Never a problem.
