Default FINALLY found some inspiration

Thanks to the wonderful peeps on this board, after 3 long weekends, I was able to unpack all of my quilt boxes after we moved and I have a real live sewing room now! Then I wasn't sure where/what to start. I started a tradition a couple years ago of making baby quilts for the teachers that are expecting at the elementary school. Right after my husbands surgery earlier this year, one of my youngest sons' had a baby girl. Then one of the bosses at work had a long awaited boy....my only niece on my side made me a "great" aunt this week, and I found out my youngest son's other teacher from last year is now also expecting...I have more babies than baby quilts! But I have a real stash and I took a deep breath and just jumped in....finally.

So I stitched almost all of a baby sized Stairway to Heaven today . I organized all the fabrics I want to use in a little Warm Wishes for the boss' son, put all the FQ's I want to use for a crafty class together and perused the internet for a pink giraffe fabric (which I couldn't find) for my great-niece. I cannot believe I got so much done today. My sewing room is right next to the laundry room and the boys' rec room so I was near enough to hear any potential mischief making.

I am so happy to have gotten so much done! And it all started in the organizational thread on this board. A huge thank you to all the quilters that have helped me overcome my recent creative slump. Couldn't have done it without you.

Welcome back to the fold. I've had those slumps before. I'm always so glad when things start perking again!

I was a little energized today and made a "list"!! For me, that's a start. Found a cute pillowcase pattern (which I posted on the Links thread) that I'm making for the grandbabies. Picked out fabric from my stash. On Tuesday, I had gone to Hancocks to get a few items I needed to do other projects. Making my grown nieces and sister regular pillowcases and lingerie bags.

I also reorganized some of my machines, including my embroidery machine which has sat on my kitchen table for (hmmm) several years! Have it set up next to my new Brother now. I will still cut on my kitchen counter because it is the right height. Put some plastic totes full of mostly acrylic blanks for embroidery (which I'm gong to sell) away out of my living room.

This was a Big day for me!! When you're in a slump, it just depresses you more!!

So glad you are sewing again. I can't seem to stay out of my sewing room. It's one of favorite places. The creative juices just overflow in that room. Have fun.

Thanks guys. Getting more done today to. To Dakotamaid, that 60 inch wide is PERFECT for a backing! I might have to make her a 58" square quilt. I just wish it wasn't 17.00 a yard! Poking around some of my preferred websites and a few stores here in town to see what I can come up with. Pastels would be perfect because my niece didn't pick out anything bright for her shower. Everything was light pink and light brown for the giraffes.

I finished the stairway to heaven. Sometimes, it takes a very simple quilt to get me back in the spirit of things.
