Default Finger Guard-need advice

I have seen a finger guard mentioned a few times here on the board. I looked it up online and found a variety of different ones. Any comments regarding your preferences would be appreciated. Also, can it be changed from one machine to another or should I buy one for each machine (6). Thanks in advance for your advice. I really don't want another visit to the emergency room because a needle has broken off in my finger. Yikers!!!

Here is a link to another thread I found about finger guards:
http://www.universalsewing.com/tek9....criteria=520.1

Some fingerguards fit all machines; others fit machines with a specific shank size (such as short shank machines).

I don't have problems with the machine and needles, I just like to try to cut my finger off with the rotary cutter!

Thanks for the site Prism99! I have copied it down for when I need to teach a little one to sew.

Thanks Prism99, but I still don't know which one our people here prefer. Still could use some guidance.

I don't think many people use a finger guard. Years ago I tried out a wire guard (for my daughter), but did not care much for it. I would think a transparent guard that is more robust than wire would be better.

Thanks Prism99, that makes a lot of sense.
