Default First Quilt Show

I am so excited. Mom and I are going to our first quilt show and we are taking a Pat Sloan class. I am afraid we will forget to take something we will need for class. Does anyone have a list or suggestions about what to take and what not to. I know sewing machine, thread, rotary cutter mat and such but anything that was nice to have or you wish you had not brought? I am thinking of making a sewing machine mat to keep up with all of our things. I have never taken a class or been to a show where you took your machine.

How do you take all of that stuff in? She suggests a laundry basket of scraps in addition to our other supplies. Where do you store it when you are finished with the class but wanting to look around the show floor. Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.

Take a pillow or cushion to sit on. The chairs may get uncomfortable Chocolate to calm the nerves never hurts😋

Many quilt shows have a coat check where you could check your machines and supplies so you can look around. Enjoy your first quilt show.

If you have a suitcase with wheels, they work great for classes.

I take it all in a wheely bag and a tote bag. They usually have a place where you can "bag check" your bags while you walk around in the show. Have fun!

If you've got your own small iron and ironing pad, it saves having to wait to use the communal ironing board - that is, if the venue will let you use your own iron. I took a Pat Sloan class last fall and she was a lot of fun. We did her medallion quilt. Which one are you doing?

and label EVERYTHING!!! cords, foot control, machine, rulers, cutters, etc. etc.! If you put your name on the plug end of your power cord, then there's no possibility of someone unplugging the wrong machine by accident.

You'll be surrounded by vendors. Don't worry about forgetting anything. LOL
