I am having a problem with my Fiskars Rotary Cutter (the one that comes with the cutting mat and 6x24 ruler). The nut doesn't stay tightened. It loosens up after only about 5 or 6 cuts. Sometimes I'm afraid it will come right off. I love the angle you hold it at, not like the others I've seen. I was thinking it might have been an issue with my specific cutter, so I went and bought another one just like it. Once I change the blade, I have the same problem. I have been very careful when taking it apart to make sure I'm putting it back together correctly. Has anyone else had a problem?

Have you tried some lock-tite on it? I think they make different strengths of it. I'd try a weaker one first just don't get it on the blade (just the nut) or maybe try plumbers tape.

Are you sure you're putting the nut and bolt back on the correct sides? Try flipping them to the opposite side and see if it stays tight.

What about trying some silicone tape like is used on pipes? It should stop the nut from coming off easily.

I had the same problem, seems like the little washer bent and didn't hold properly. I broke down and bought a gingher and love it.

So did I. The fiskars is hidden waaayy behind all the Olfas. Love the retractable.

I think the washer is supposed to be bent. At least mine is. It acts as a spring.

Mine also gets loose after just a few cuts so I always make sure its tight when I start to use it and then after each cut. Maybe Santa Claus will bring me an ofla.
