Flannel binding?

I never wash my flannel first because I love the way it shrinks and puffs out. I always make my baby quilts with flannel backing and binding. Sometimes the tops too. I always wash before giving to the person receiving and check to make sure everything held up in the laundry. (Put a color catcher in during the wash.)
