FLat head pins
I atried writing a quick response but it disappeared. Anyway I have the flat head pins too but made the mistake of letting the iron get too close and melted on the bottom what a mess. I'm so stuipid.

I had the same problem of the flower top coming off the yellow dritz pins, especially when pinning sandwiches. They did better when just piecing. I had no problem with the ones I ordered from Clover. The flat head pins that look like buttons (I think they are also DRitz) are horrible. They are not very sharp and they break.

I love the flower head pins. That said, I have tossed the yellow ones -- the ones I had were thick and dull. I do use glass headed pins if I am going to take something that is pinned to the ironing board. I have not had a lot of trouble with the heads coming off (the pins I have are multicolored), but my arthritis hands love the flower head pins.
