    fleece and washable glue

Has anyone had experience gluing panels, etc on fleece to hold down when sewing it on?

I've used Elmer's school glue to "baste" my tops to fleece. It works fine and washes out with no problem.

I'm curious, do you quilt your fleece? And if yes, how do you bind them? Width of binding?

I have never bond my fleece quilts. sew them together then sew about an inch on the top around the quilt, then do some quilting, usually in squares or x's. The kids seem to like the fleece edging to hang onto or snuggle in.

I have not used the washable glue on fleece - not yet anyway. But I did use fleece for the backing on many quilts. I just bind them any other quilt. I may have cut my binding strips 2-1/2" instead of 2-1/4" they worked out just fine

I use fleece as wadding, with a cotton backing. I did spray baste a small quilt with no backing for a friend, but when the quilt was unfolded after she got it home, the folds caused so many lumps and bumps it had to be 'undone'. That wasn't an easy job as the layers were dried and well and truly stuck. So now I only spray baste in 'dots' - sparingly.

I have a bunch of fleece I will never use for anything, so how does it work for wadding/batting? Very interesting.

I love using fleece for both backing and/or batting. For couch throws I cheat and just use the single layer of fleece with the pieced top. My family and friends love 'em.
The only caution I would add is if you need to piece the fleece make sure you don't have one horizontal and one vertical as fleece often has more give WOF than longways.
