I'd suggest photocopying several of your blocks, and then doodle on the paper copies until you come up with a quilting design that you find pleasing and easy to repeat.

I know you wanted info about FMQ, and I am too new at that to give advice. But I wanted to let you know that I think your quilt is awesome. You did a wonderful job on it.
