Default Fold N' Stitch Wreath embellishments?

How are you attaching your embellishments? I've been using buttons and have wondered about hot gluing them onto the wreath.

Thoughts?

Probably depends on your hot glue skills. Everything I do looks messy and has all these whispy strings!

Since I would want to hand sew the points together, I would just continue with the thread and sew on the button. Would the hot glue be permanent or will you be searching for a missing button?

There's a FB page for the Fold 'n' Stitch wreath. Most of the makers are sewing the embellishments on. less tacky. One has done a shortcut using only 2 fabrics instead of 3.

No! Hot glue does not last on many hard plastics! If you don't want to sew, look for a glue that might be used for sticking plastic "jewels" on fabric.

Thanks ladies!

I've been stitching the corners together the way in which the instructions say. I like that a lot. I've just finished sewing on buttons on 4 wreaths! I haven't done anything with the glue.

I stitch the corners together, but used hot glue for the embellishments for some, and then changed to gorilla glue. My fingers just can't take sewing through all the layers.

Sewing wins out every time. Hot glue works on big projects, but in delicate areas it is super hard to not end up with a mess and those strings of glue. If the wreath isn't going to undergo a great deal of handling then glue dots work great for the little sequins or other small items. They are easy to apply, are neat and do the job.

Thanks ladies!

I like the thought of Gorilla glue. I have never used it before but that is probably something I should pick up!

Tacky glue works pretty well for attaching things to fabric. That's what we used when decorating and painting t-shirts was a "thing". I suppose it's still in craft stores ;0)
