Have you read the lastest ' Love of Quilting" by Fons and Porter?
They have a "Design baby quilt "contest going on! now, I just started making baby quilts and love to design....they say you have three months..
this has been on my mind since I read it..and I would love to participate.
my problem is, i researched all types of baby quilts, looking at pictures and top winners of before and there is SO MANY..every design, technigue,
the works, out there, what's left? I've even started dreaming about designs , but can't seem to grasp any good ideas!!! I've gone blank..the pressure maybe? I really don't care for my machine annd would love to win that Activa 230....Oh what to do...there is so many people out there that can make quilts that could knock you off your sewing chair..all those new iron on strips that cost a fortune...those.....okay, I'm babbling....
and feeling very insecure....any body else thinking about participating in this?

Now that you mention it....it does sound fun. I would say that regardless of what has gone before....do your own thing....what do you think of when you have little ones with you? Rubber ducks...all in a row...baby powder smells, dinner food fun, or just the wonder of innocence in a babys sleeping face? do it! Use what you like applique, fusible, pinwheels, fourpatch, circles....it is what you see put to fabric that makes it one of the "wonderful" winners. Besides, any quilt is a winner when made from the heart. Go for it! I may just join you...let me check my mag.

This sounds like fun. I am going to look into it, but I don't know if I have the time. I have several projects going right now. Still... like you I would love to win a machine. I have a super basic.. translation CHEAP.. Brother. BUT that cheap machine has assisted me in making lots of quilts and it works like a dream! Just wish it had the blanket / buttonhole stitch!

well, I've gone so far as to print out the entry form. Did come up with one design yesterday afternnoon..I'm going to TN this weekend to see my
nieces and nephews ( that's where I'm taking that Rag Quilt, I just made, for one niece, a gift.)
maybe something on them, around them, will continue to inspire me, there are 6 of them in one family, surely a great idea will pop in my head soon!

Ok ...I guess I had better download the form too. Have fun with the little ones and drive safe. Can't wait to see the finished product.

Good luck....cause I've had a brain freeze for almost two weeks..haven't even sewn, just sat at my sewing table looking at my projects like a dummy!!! URRGGHH :(

Know that can be a bummer.....still you could go to the library at childrens reading hour....or stop in at a pediatricians office, or visit your local day school. Even at a park you can view kids and young mothers with their infants and get inspiration. looking at the toys in your local toy store will give you images to apply to a quilt top,or visit the infants dept. there has to be something that will jump out and get you scampering off down the road to quilt. A sleeping infant....a pouting child...even a "bad little Johnny" can be a focus. Take a walk and see what you find...it's probably gorgeous out there.
