I am embroidering Christmas blocks which will be a quilt when I am done with the embroidery. I put this Dritz Fray Check on the edges of the material and it doesn't take long and it's wore off/gone and then the fringing gets bad. I get tired of putting Fray check on it so many times with just 1 block. What else could I use?

Could you use pinking shears on the edges? Just a thought.

You might try stitching a straight stitch close to the edge of the fabric around the outside edge of the block or serging the outside edge.

I have used masking tape in the past. could try the painter's tape may not leave the residue as masking tape does.

I forgot about that. I did that years ago when I did cross stitching! It worked really well!

My mom would put a small zig zag around the edges of her blocks. Did not have a problem with fraying when doing this.

Thank you Julie. I was thinking of this and you did it for me. :)

I've used painter's tape, zig zagged the edges or actually cut the fabric larger and machine sewed a hem using a really long stitch
