It does look complicated, but if you like components of it, you could make those, follow along as far as you can, and then adapt it to be a little simpler when the going gets rougher than you find fun.

edited to add -- after looking at step one directions, I don't think I would construct the block the way she suggests (though she does explain her rationale for doing so). I personally don't have huge knots when I make a flying goose, but if you do, her method might be worth trying out. The first set of blocks is doable for a confident beginner.

That is one question only you can answer. Do you feel up to doing the first block? If that thought doesn't worry you, then you may be OK to move on. Sometimes we need to dive into the deep end of the pool so we can challenge ourselves.

that's really pretty! Thank you so much for the link. I'll save it and maybe try it next year!

I'll save the pattern. In a few years someone will be searching for it!

I love this, but can't download the pattern. Anyone else have a problem?

I know for now it's too much to ask from myself, but I do download the pattern.

Karen, when you click the 'first step', do you get a new page, but empty?
I had that, and after clicking the 'refresh' button (right side of the URL) it downloaded perfectly.
