I drop my feed dogs and use a
darning foot.... and my tension on the back side of my
quilt become a little loose at
times.... I've changed and used my walking foot and then
my tension is okay. I go slow and then at times I go medium and it still happens no matter the speed. So What could be the problem??

the topic of machine quilting is the topic of several ongoing "conversations" here. do a "seaqrch" on "machine quilting", "freemotion quilting", "free motion quilting", etc. and you'll find a wealth of information.

the most recent thread started on the subject is "how do you stipple?". it's not too far down the "Main" list from this thread. no farther back than page 2. check it out.

Alexandra,

Did you lower your presser foot? And did you lessen the pressure on your presser foot? These two came to mind without trying same on my machine.

Off to church now. Suz

The two most common reasons for this problem are slow machine and fast hands. If you speed up the machine and make slow even movements, you should be able to avoid this problem. By swinging quickly in an arch motion, you are moving faster at that point than the bobin can catch up. It really takes concentration on even speed to get your back to look as good as the front. Catch yourself from moving quickly when doing a circular motion. This seems to be the most comfortable movement and we tend to quicken without realizing it. Like any other skill it takes practice and alot of unsewing. Ask me, I know this all too well.
Good luck and practice practice and then practice some more. You will be pleased with the result.
