Smile Double Wedding Ring Bed Runner

I'm starting to put some of the pieces together. The edges are scallops. I find that when I put the three pieces together that form the border, the one piece is longer by the seam allowance. I don't know if I'm not putting them
together correctly or if this small piece of fabric will be covered by the binding. Also, in the middle of the bed runner are three big stars, for want of a better word, with four of these pieces being joined together. Will I run into the same problem at that time? I hope I have explained myself sufficiently so that everyone understands me.
Thank you for any help you can give.

I don't have any advice as I've never done a double wedding ring pattern before but wanted to wish you good luck. But it seems to me that one piece probably shouldn't be longer. No offense meant, but are you sure you cut the pieces the exact measurements in the pattern? I know my ruler (or my hand!) is forever slipping and messing up my measurements. Hope someone is able to help you. Would love to see a picture when you complete it.

The pattern is paper pieced in its entirety. There is, fortunately, no way to overcut or undercut.

If it's the Niemeyer pattern, it is gorgeous. Can't figure out how the seam allowances don't meet on a paper piecing pattern, unless it is printed incorrectly. Do you still have the foundation paper on the units? Could you post a picture so we can see the problem better?

It is the Niemeyer pattern. By the time I get to this step, the paper is all torn off. It could be the one end is a little off in the printing of the pattern in this particular one. Maybe I can just give it a slight trim. When I come back from work, I'll see if I can download a picture of what I'm talking about.
