I have a problem that I could use help with. My sewing machine can be set up to do free motion quilting or embrodary. You change the throat plate and remove the presser foot. Then you put the cloth under the needle either in a hoop or on a tight frame. This part is no problem. Now you have to insert the needle rotating the wheel toward you, hold the end of your top thread loosely, bring up the needle and pull the bottom thread through. I can not get the bottom thread to come up. Any suggestions.

As you complete the rotation, you pull gently on the top thread and it should bring the bottom thread up with it. It works just like when you pull the bobbin up when you refill it. It will be a pretty small loop and I usually use my seam ripper to snag the loop and pull it all the way thru.

On my machine, I have to lower the foot as if sewing. Only then will the bobbin thread catch.

Put the foot down, THEN your bobbin thread will come up! Easy fix.
