I am currently working on this one by Mirkwood Designs. I had a couple of old jelly rolls that I wanted to use up, and there is very little waste to this one. The sides finish straight and you don't have to even them up. www.mirkwooddesigns.com/projects/friendship-braid.pdf

I am agreeing with the others who recommended Jane Hardy Miller's, French Braid Quilts. It is the one book that I have felt was worth more than it cost. The cost of your time and frustration with poor directons would probably be greater than the price of the book
