Hi all,
I am working on my second machine quilted quilt. I have made a 4 patch, and did stitch in the ditch around the squares. Then for the border I used a design from The Best of Shirley Thompson quilting patterns. I had a cousin tell me that this would be hard. I have never taken a class (because the money isn't there right now), but have read numerous books, this board, and just played around. Anyway, I think it is turning out quite cute. I do have a couple of tucks in the backing, but that is okay. I used flannel, and next time will remember to starch the flannel for backing.
I think it will be used for a fundraiser for my son's ballroom dance group. I have more to make as we have a girl in our neighborhood who has bone cancer, and a group of friends are putting together a 5k run and silent auction. I figure I can do quite a few with my stash. My friend is making cute pillow cases for the auction.
Anyway, I just wanted to share how much fun I am having and to thank you all for posting such wonderful information. I need to get a picture of the quilt, then when my daughter comes for a visit, use her card reader to download and post my picture.
