I've got a machine that my husband and I found in my sister-in-laws basement when we were cleaning it out after she died. I took it home, plugged it in and pressed on the foot pedal and saw that it worked and that's all I did with it until my Brother started giving me problems. I decided that I'd like to get it working. It seems like a good machine - all metal, sturdy, sounds good, etc. but I cannot find a manual for it anywhere online. I'm not even sure what kind of machine it is. The front of it says The Dressmaker, on the side it has a plate that says Model 201 and the motor has a plate that says it's a Janome. Ive got it working for just basic straight sewing. Can't get it to go in reverse yet, lol but I have figured out how to wind the bobbin. Anybody ever heard of this machine?

Go to the Vintage Sewing Machine Shop section of this board. they are lots of people with this machine and they can help you with a manual. Glenn

Really. Thanks. I'll check that section out. I've also got 2 singers I've got to get power cords for but I'm pretty sure I can find those manuals.

I had one at one time. I didn't keep it long enough to give you any help. A friend wanted it, so I let it go.
