This is how I have used it as well. Just on smaller items and like it really well for that. Have never tried using in a quilt.

I don't have any area large enough to press. I just am happy with Hobbs 80/20 batting.

I've used to for purses and it worked well. But I wanted a stiffer hand so it was good for that. I don't think I'd like it for real quilts.
