I have admired all the bow tuck bags on the forum, and really wanted to make one. Having searched here in UK for the pattern without success, I ordered it from a site in USA. I am so excited because it arrived yesterday. The only problem I have is that it need fusible pellon, but again it does not seem to be on sale here, and I do not know what it looks like in order to buy a substitute. So can anyone here descrbie excactly what it is, we have a fusible which we use for applique called Bond a web. Is it the same thing?

Fusible pellon is a thin form of wadding that has either dots or lines of the adhesive material across the surface of the wadding. It is heat activated, so you put the material over it and press it onto the pellon. If you haven't got any there, I suggest that you apply the web that you wrote of, and adhere the pellon to the material with this web. It will be the same in result, just an extra step to iron the webbing onto the fabric and then the pellon.

Am working on my first bow tuck bag right now and got my fusable pellon on e-bay at what I thought was a reasonable price. Check it out. I knew with the holiday coming up, I would not have time to take a trip to the quilting store so I bought on line and had the material in about four days. Have fun making your bag!!

Is it possible for someone to post a picture on here of a piece of the fusible pellon, and then I can perhaps compare it to what I can get here in the UK

I have been on internet and found sites that deliver to Uk, but the shipping charges for this item is so high that I need to find similar item that is available here. 2 yards with shipping from US is coming to app $25 which I think is a bit too high

Try WebFabrics. They ship to the UK and their shipping rates are very reasonable. They carry a fusible pellon type material, as well as a HUGE variety of quilting cottons and batiks. Hi quality name brand fabrics.....They also have a storefront about 25 minutes from my home (Lucky Me) so I get to go visit and drool frequently. www.webfabrics.com.....I do not think you will be disappointed!

Hello, if you don't have fusible pellon, you can also use regular batting. You can use it with basting spray or pin it. When you get your pattern, you will see that it is quite easy to substitute the pellon.

Here is a link to the tut i did a while back. if you read through it, others have posted ideas, too.

Thank you, Thank you. Now I know it is just like a normal batting that I can use the spray on, I am now a happy bunny, and can get making my bag. I have been on a number of sites, but the shipping is double the price of the fleece. I often use the spray if I am doing small quilts, and i find it very good, but not so good on large quilts. Thanks again, and I will bookmark your tutorial which will help me
