Default GGD quilt gift (almost)

So, the box under the tree from my GGD was med large and I wondered what it could be, I was warned as I opened it to be very careful of it. To my total surprise it was an unfinished quilt with lots of straight pins, she took online lessons and found a modern pattern and secretly sewd the top, put it together with batting and backing and is in the process of hand quilting it for me. It brings tears to my eyes and I will cherish it all my remaining days, once she finishes it! She took it back home and I look forward to seeing it soon. She used a jelly roll and they are my favorite colors...drabs! It completely blew me away.

What a precious gift!! And kudos to her for wrapping and giving it anyway though she wasn't finished. So many times we get to that point, then just buy a gift, setting the quilt aside because it wasn't finished on time/just as we wanted/bound yet/ or whatever. You have a treasure!
