I'm guessing that's the same Nifty Notions one that I have - it is my favorite seam ripper!

I have two from Havel's. One is a cheapie, blue plastic, non-replaceable blade. It's ok, but feels kind of light. The second id stainless, with replaceable blades. It is, I'm told, an actual surgical scalpel. It feels much better balanced. I like the size of these blades better than those that are bigger and have a deeper curve in the blade. I've got a few X-actos around, so will compare the blades. i have a hunch the Exactos may be cheaper than things marketed to quilters...

I have the Havel, too. I like the fact that you can change blades if one gets dull. I also like the fact that it is flat. It can't roll off the surface. You can buy a non-rolling holder for Exacto Blades or at least you could. I have quite a few as I always was afraid the Exacto would roll off the table and get my foot. I don't wear shoes in the summer - I wear sandals.

Havel's great deal
Did you know that you can buy 100 blades from Havel's, each sealed in foil, for about $18? Check their site!
