Default Girl Scout anniversary quilt

Here's part of a quilt I made for the Girl Scouts' 100th anniversary. I had troops donate blocks to be included. There are a couple I'm concerned about quilting and would like some advise on. There are a few that were done with iron-on transfers and a couple done with fabric paint. One of the fabric painted ones is also on some kind of polyester, not cotton. I was planning to do an all over quilting pattern on my mid-arm and frame. Do you see any problems with quilting through these squares, or should I avoid them somehow?

So cute. An all over light quilting pattern would be prefect. That way no one fabric will stick out like a sore thumb. Just my humble opinion. But I still learning.

You did a great job!! All of them are very nice. I used to be very active in the GS, but my kids are all grown and I only have one DGD. I have some Brownie fabric I picked up somewhere sometime. It is white with light brown "GS" logos on it. If you can use it, PM me and I will ship it off to you. There is prob a yard, I will look when home and remember. LOL

I think overall quilting would be great. Nice quilt. I was a girl scout when I was little, but that was eons ago. I did enjoy it.

It looks great! I think I would try to avoid stitching through the fabric paint as much as possible. If it's a hard type, it could break the needle. If it's gummy, it will get the needle sticky and cause quilting problems. The photo transfers I would do as little quilting on them as possible. I think I'd do whatever all over pattern you wanted to do on the whole quilt but leave the "problem" blocks unquilted. I would then FMQ quilt the blocks individually on a regular machine. Good luck!

IMHO, I'd try to avoid quilting through any thick areas of paint. See if you have an old Tshirt with iron-on transfer, practice on that and see how it works. But I'm no expert. Hopefully someone can help you.

Great quilt!!
I'm curious why you have boy and girl scouts over there? Here in Australia as in many other countries they are mixed. Both my children (boy and girl) are Scouts and love it, they both have to share all of the duties (none of this boys jobs and girl jobs) and work together.
