Well Saturday I finished and delivered a quilt and matching cough pillow to a dear family friend who last Monday had heart sergery. A 5 bypass. He hadn't been released from the hospital like i had thought. He was released on Sunday. Well it got me thinking how I wish I could have seen him open the quilt and pillow. Not for the thanks or for the praise but to see his face when he got a gift. Am I weird for wishing I could have seen him open it? Do you guys feel that way too?

this was too cute to not share. he is trying not to eat his veggies.

You are not weird!

It just gives us joy to see the happiness on someone else face.

Not weird at all. There are probably a ton of people out there who look forward to, and enjoy, seeing a gift opened. I'm one of them!!

Of course it is only normal to want to see a gift we spent so much time and energy on being openned. People don't get enough gifts in this day and age. Oh kids do, and normal holiday family type gifts. But when someone has such a frightening life altering event as illness or surgery, gifts really can perk someone up. It's great to know the person loved receiving an unexpected gift.
Oh and cute little one trying to hide his veggies!!!!!!!

Not weird at all.At Christmas I am always the last to open my gifts. I love to watch everyone else open theirs. It doesn't matter who gave the gift, I just love to see the smiles and surprise all around. My family thinks I am weird.

I always like to be there with the person that I give a quilt to when they open it up. It makes me feel good inside and glad I was able to give the quilt.
