I would be too if I weren't so busy kicking myself.
Spent weekend at a yard sale with the last of MIL & FIL excess. In the process of packing & sorting though these things .. we brought home three totes full of things expecially for us! In one box were some quilting related items ... 6 pointed hand pieced stars (65+/-), extra pink diamonds for said stars, 65 6"~ fancy cut butterflies, 30 4" butterflies (somewhat simpler), some hand pieced bowties for blocks and a simple quilt top - and extra fabric. Since they had been sitting for many years - the handpiecing and cutting having been done when mom was looking after one of the grandmothers at least 25 years ago or longer - I threw everything in the washer - and dryer!!
I did know better but figured if it wasn't salvagable so be it.
Now I'm pressing everything flat and sorting it. ;-)
Will post pictures when I'm done pressing

Hope it all comes out for you. Would hate to loose that sort of thing. Can't wait to see the pics. I especially want to see the fancy butterflies.

Ahh, sorry. I have done many things that I knew better about! Stick with it. Whatever comes out will be worth it, but don't kick yourself over things that can't be saved -- it is what it is.
