I am thinking about getting a embroidery machine but don't have alot of money. Can anyone recommend a machine? It won't be used heavly just for decorating.
Thanks for the help

I have a Brother PE150. It uses the small hoop...4 X 6, but it is a nice machine and I can still get the memory cards for it. There is also a Brother Disney that has a lot of Disney built in stitches. I bought mine on ebay several years ago and gave 150.00 for it. No more than what I use it, it was a good investment, although sometimes I would like to do a larger design.

I bought the Singer Futura 150, sewing and emboridery. I love it. This machine sells for about 549.00 or 599.00 at Joanns. It comes with 2 hoops. You do need to connect to a computer to embroider, but I like it better than buying cams or memory cards because I can just download designs that will be available whenever I need them.

Hi..I posted on the above the link re the Brother 770, really good machine. I now have a second hand Husqvarna Designer 1 which I love. It is an upgraded one that has a USB port not the floppy disk.
downside to the machine is that it is really slow in comparrisson to newer machines to load the design and the info panel is a bit dated....however the stitch quality is superb....you can now pick these up really cheaply so maybe worth looking at as long as is in really good condition with all hoops etc.
Most people adore their machines....the end result is dependent on you taking the time to stabalise and position the design correct.....I'm sure you'll love it whatever you get...I really love mine
