What would be a good color to pain the walls in a sewing room? I'm in the planning process and need some ideas about what colors would be the best for lighting, etc.

Any ideas?

Maybe a pastel that is sort of netural, that will go with your sewing supplies? I don't know :?:

Here is what I did and it looks terrific: I painted the walls a pale green and the ceiling is sky blue with white fluffy clouds. I have a painted wall mural of an outdoor scene on the one and only open wall in the room. The mural has a dirt road, a field of wild flowers and two large trees painted on each end of the wall. Then (and this os the coolest part) there is a painted clothesline "tied" to the limbs of each tree. From the faux clothesline I've attached small quilted wall hangings with clothespins on the top to make it look realistic. I get so many complements from people about how clever this is. In front of the wall mral there is a white wicker love seat and a small wicker table to place my cup of java or glass of vino when I take a break from my sewing. I swear that this wall mural enhances my creativity. On a practical note, I think the most important thing to keep in mind when planning a sewing room is the lighting. The Ott True Color light is great and I also had pot lights installed in my ceiling to provide task lighting where I most need it:-) Nita

I want to see pictures of Nita's room with the mural. Sounds great. I just painted my sewing room the color of gingerbread. It is quite neutral and I thought it would be a nice backdrop for my quilting stuff. I will put thread racks on the wall with all the pretty thread colors and I think with a neutral color the fabrics will look great stacked on sheleves. When it is done I will take pictures for you.
LOL! :-)

Well here's the thing; I am one of the dinosaurs left that still uses a 35mm camera, as opposed to digital. So, getting photos out to you girls presents a problem. Let me see if I can borrow my hubby's digital camera that he uses for his business and maybe he can walk me through the "how to's" as far as posting photos on this website. Can't promise anything, but I'll try ~ Nita
