I just bought this chalk tracing paper and I am afraid of using it. I have used the chalk roller. I think I relate this to the old time tracing paper we use to use with the tracing wheel for marking clothing patterns. I'm afraid it won't wash off or the pattern really doesn't transfer enough to see it for FMQ. Does anyone out there have any experience with it? (sorry for the blurry pic)

I am using it on my Affairs of the Heart applique blocks, it seems to work fine for that. I am tracing the pattern on one layer of fabric and it goes on quite bright on the black. By the time I have finished the block, the marks have faded quite a bit. I haven't got around to trying to remove them totally yet, but it looks as though it will come out.
Could you try on a practice piece first?

I have never used it but do yourself up a sample to try it BEFORE using it on a quilt.

I haven't ever seen that before. My fear holds me back too often. Like others have suggested just try it on a sample and then you will know. Let us know how it works.
