happy paper piecing!! :D
Izy I found the graph paper but dont' know how to create hexagons from it :( This would be very easy and cut down on time if I didn't have to draw so many hexagons.

Get you some fat quarters (or actually a 1/4 yard of off-the-bolt fabric would work just as well. Pick colors that go together. Make a few
"blossoms". That will give a feel for the project without putting too much into it. Then you can get the "pavement" or "sidewalk" fabric when you are ready to put them together. The only fabrics that need to be the same are the 'pathway' and the centers; and even the centers would not have to be the exact fabric.

In my pattern, the pathways are joined point to point with dark green diamond shapes in between. Sorta looks like grass growing throught the cracks in the sidewalk!

I spent my time watching the Olympics and cutting hexagons, marking hexagons, cutting fabric, and sewing blossoms together. Its amazing how much you can get done with just a few minutes here, and a few minutes there.

Above all -- Have fun!!!

PS I am using a template that I cut from plastic. (Not as expense laden as using individual paper templates). If you do that, it is extremely important to mark the dots, so that you sew from one dot to the next. Believe me!!

Another place I would suggest you check out is www.brandysquiltpatterns.com She has a tutorial on GFG that I think you would find interesting.
I like your pavement and grass idea between the flowers!!! How far along are you on your project?

I was never too keen on the biscuit quilts....some of the biscuit quilts I've seen are quite pretty, but I like ones I can do quilting afterwards.. I'm not sure, but can you quilt those biscuit quilts???

Izy.. I swear if my head wasn't attached I would be useless like t-ts on a bull!!! LOL see when I first read your initial message to check out that link it was about 8:30am this morning and still didn't have my morning cup of java... so I blame it on not being awake and fully functional!! LOL

After reading this message to me, I went back to the site.. and lo and behold!! looky what I found!!! LOL so I put in the size I wanted, and then copied off 40 pages!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL now to chooose my fabrics!!!

I think I will add the white around each garden, but I like how Abacus added a green garden path around her flowers... I think I will like to do that too!!! hmmm now I wonder how many I would need to make for a queen size quilt!!!! and my queen has a very big thick mattress..
note to self.--- oooh Aggi What are getting yourself in to???? Granny Cat.. you got any of that wine or chocolate over there!!! I havent' started yet and already I'm wondering what I got myself into!!

Granny Cat.. get that other quilt done pronto girl!!! We are gonna need support through this one!!! :P
