Mine is all 30's repro's surrounded by white. I'll try to get everything together later and take pics. Thanks for the sympathetic ear. It really isn't too bad. I just changed the way I was doing it mid stream and once I get all the same papers in it, it will go a lot faster.
A word of advice - pick your method and stick with it. My next EPP project will be done with freezer paper.

OH SO TRUE. I thought about using the precut ones but I'm REALLY particular about the fabrics, so count me in as another glutton for punishment, drawing out each little hexagon and carefully cutting them old school (scissors LOL).

I found sitting at the dining room table and watching a couple movies made the hexagon tracing and cutting go much faster... and as you can see from the photos I posted, the wine and chocolate helped too :)
I too made mine 2 1/2". I think I'll be making 25 blocks in total. After I measured the fabric I chose, I realized that was all I could get out of it... so I will add a nice cream colour to go around the blocks as the pathway between the flowers then make a nice cream background wide border and do hand applique around it. I want the quilt to be big enough for my queen size bed, so I don't mind adding large borders... Especially if there will be applique all around it :)

Something to think about when cutting is to stack multiple fabrics, trace around your template on the top one and cut all layers at once. Saves time that way and is no different than say a stack and wack or any method of cutting multiple fabrics at once.

I tried doing that and normally do for pieces because it goes oh so much faster but it's just not quite right for the hexagons...when you move your acrylic around it they completely shift. if these are off, there's no using them unless I'm missing something. Plus, I have just so much fabric, like aggi, and i have them right next to one another. I figured I can get 8 2.5 pieces from each 8" square unless I only need 6 in which case I save the bit for another project..... :roll: frugal, I know. LOL
