I was at an estate and personal property sale last week, and my brother bought the house! When the contents were being auction, he "bought" an entire closet for $5.00. Checking inside we found a Bernina 1230, complete with attachments and case, but minus the foot pedal. In another room we found a sewing table and the plastic insert to surround the Bernina! What a buy! Now we just need to find a foot pedal for a reasonable price and we'll be all set. Does anyone know where we might find one?

WOW WOW WOW, I am so impressed and happy for you. Ebay is a good place to start, and there are places that are sewing machine places that sell there. So if you find something you think is close, you can always call or email and make sure it is right, or if they have the correct one.

Wow...that is really cool! I have never been to an auction where they sell a whole closet full... ususally they clean everything out and do it piece by piece around here!

Ebay would be a good place to look, or I suppose you could actually go to a dealer if you had too.

Have fun with your new treasure!

Is the foot pedal in the sewing table by any chance? My Bernina is in a cabinet and has a knee lever that works the foot pedal. If you were to take the machine out, the pedal would still be in the table. What a wonderful deal you got on a machine that I'm sure you will love.
