I remember when ebay used to have good deals, I went to look at fabric and thought hey maybe I will buy something new for a good deal....but all of the stuff I saw is priced HIGHER than the quilting stores I shop at!!! Seriously!?? Is it just the holidays or that I havent been on ebay in some time?

Some is some isnt. If you go to buy it now and do a search by price plus shipping sometimes its a better deal. Sometimes its just fun to poke around and see whats out there. I can't always get to my quilt store. I HATE Joann's so.. there is the net. I don't find bargains but usually like quilt store prices on ebay vs sale prices at Joann's. But you can get name brands on ebay which you CAN NOT get at Joann's. Check out whittlesfabrics.com for fun reasonable priced fabrics.

Many of the online stores have better prices than on eBay now. In addition to Whittles, there is Thousands of Bolts, Blue Bamboo, Marshall Dry Goods, Webfabrics, Over the Rainbow, etc. Check out the Fab Shop Hop links. I've discovered several places thru there.

I find that it is an on/off again on good deals. Some have wonderful prices until you look at the shipping  I don't spend as much time there looking anymore....

I shop for fabric on eBay, but usually only for specific pattern I'm looking for, or a whole bunch of FQs in a line. And I refuse to pay as much (including shipping costs) as if I went to LQS, so if that's the case, then I just drive across town!! Some of our LQSs will order special. I haven't done that, but I know they will. I have gotten some GREAT deals on eBay, but you really have to spend time and only buy what you LOVE!!! You do have to watch out for the shipping costs...sometimes they add in extra for their time, etc. I don't do those.

I feel the same way. Ebay use to be fun and you could get a great deal. Now it is a high priced business. I dont like Joanns either so usually by on line. I feel the shipping is the same as using gas to run around looking for something. Another site to look at is www.quiltshops.com

This is my favorite ebay site for fabric - http://stores.ebay.com/CROWSNESTQUIL..._sopZ10QQ_vcZ1

It's not the latest collections, but the fabric is good quality (a lot of Red Rooster, which I like) and the shipping is reasonable, especially if you get as much as will fit in a large USPS box (about 30 yards). They also answer questions promptly. I've always been pleased when I purchase from them.

Forgot to say, all the Red Rooster fabric is $2.99 / yd.
