I wish I DIDN'T NEED a stitch regulator, but it would make my life 'SEW' much easier. I just can't justify to myself buying a new machine.....I have
FIVE. One is a Bernina Artista 180 which was the top of the line YEARS ago. I still love sewing on it, but the new machines have improved so much it isn't funny.
Congratulations....and many, many REGULAR stitches to you! May you become a REGULAR stitcher maven!

I have a bernina 185 that I got for Christmas 1985. I was working as a travel nurse and never got time to take lessons or learn to use it. I have tried for a year since I am retired now to find someone to give me lessons but am told each time that since it is an old machine there is no one to teach me. Thought of trading it off but that would be a kick in the pants. It cost near six thousand dollars new. It has never been used.....Maybe one day I will find someone to teach me. I have an Elna air-electronic and an old 1938 singer that still out sews the Elna. I use both of them all the time.

Congratulations!!! Lucky you. Your husband is a keeper!! LOL I've been looking at the 830's but hubby has already told me he's bought is last sewing machine, embroidery machine and quilting machine..darn!!!! VBG..I have a number of sewing machines. My newest is an electronic Elna I paid $12 for at a yardsale. BEfore that it was a Babylock Quilter's Edition. I have several vintage machines..mostly Singers. He bought me one of the small embroidery machines from WM a few years ago. I gave it to my dil and bought a pre-owned..don't you love that instead of used??? ha ha....Brother Pacesetter 8500. So unless I get a job...highly unlikely since I"ve worked in almost 31 years guess getting another machine is out of the question
