Our Walmart in Dickinson, ND is getting FABRIC back.....yewhaw, whoop whoop, talk about making my day.
I moved here 2 years ago, and they didn't have it then and never expected it to ever happen. I was one of many people whom wrote emails to the main office in Arkansas to let them know, what they had done to this area. I never dreamed it would happen. I was always happy for all of you, that was getting yours back and could only hope that we might be a lucky area to get it back here.
And I know there is a few of you out there that would never purchase fabric there and I know a few of you it is what "we" can afford, but our closest fabric shop/quilt shop is over a 100 miles in either direction and that includes JoAnns/Hancocks/Hobby Lobby. The only or what you could call a fabric shop doesn't have much for fabrics that someone might purchase(not my choice of fabric lines and they are cheaper looking and feel then Walmart fabric), and she pushes her sewing machines and never has the thread, needles or zippers in the size you might need in an emergency.
anyway I talked to the Assistant manager, and told her that this will make alot of quilters, 4-H familes and seamstresses happy and that I was going home to tell everyone on Quiltboard and facebook what was happening in our little corner of the world.
Just to let you all know, I purchase fabric, notions and such, where I can afford it or where I might be at the time I have a "notion" to fabric shop..........Joann's is my favorite and love the coupons, did you know, that Hancock fabrics honors those coupons.
But I have bought my share of fabric at Walmart, mostly for clothes, but I've made 2 "Cars" quilts for DGS and purchased all the fabric from Walmart and then are 4 years now, and nearly look new still with numerous washings and two DGS loving them.
So now that you have heard my great news, sleep tight and dream about that next quilty project.
