Last Spring I started Eleanor Burns' Day & Night Quilt. I don't like to throw away scraps and loved that she advised to save the scraps for 2 side projects. So, I saved them and when the Day & Night quilt was done, I wated a month and then started the side projects. I've finished and bound the Mini Star Quilt and I've sandwiched the Spider Web Quilt but I'm really dragging my feet now. I love little side projects but I've been working with the same 3 colors since March now and I'm ready for some changes. I'm going to try to do the quilting on the Spider Web today but not sure I'll have the ambition. I'm the type of person who would stash a WIP and not see it again for years (been there, done that) so I don't want to stop now.

Good for you! Just think when you're done you will have three finished projects and can move on without guilt! I'd like to see pic of your quilts. I haven't seen the night and day and as for spider web I've got one of those WIP with that one. I've used retros and am having trouble getting it put together!

Plan your next project. Pick the fabrics and pattern and lay them in plain sight. Promise yourself that just as soon as you finish this one last thing you can start on that one.
It works for me, kind of like promising a dessert to a kid as soon as they eat all their vegetables.

Thumb tack your little projects to the wall right in front of your sewing machine instead of putting them away "for a while". That "while" never come, does it? If you see them every day, you might be more inclined to finish them after you've worked on another color for a while.

You can do it. Just think about how anxiously we are waiting to see pics of the finished projects.

Thanks everyone!! I actually pried myself off this board and did some quilting. One of the side projects was already bound and waiting for some hand sewing (I always hand tack my binding down once I sew the binding to the quilt). So, I looked over the Spider Web Quilt, took a deep breath and plunged in. The blocks are 12" and is 6 x 6 so I did some SID around the blocks. Now, I need to do some SID and echo stitching inside the blocks but not sure if I have it in me tonight (especially since Eleanor Burns will be on in an hour, ). If I don't finish it tonight, then I'm doing it tomorrow! (Fingers crossed) Then I'll post lots of pics!
