When you get right down to it, our sewing rooms are our habitats. Maybe you could find a fun way to put that in there. It should get some smiles from the other quilters.

You could use a home as a theme, and then showcase 6 habitats in your home. Ex. sewing room is a habitat for a sewing machine, garage is a habitat for cars/tools/boxes, closet is a habitat for clothes. Or you could pick different rooms as habitats for the different members of your family (where they spend most of their free time). This could be a really fun challenge.

There's always "Habitat for Humanity" that could be used as a creative theme...

Ha! how cute. Each 6 1/2'' block has to be a habitat, so......pin cushion for pins, Thread on a spool, shelf holding fabric, books holding quilt patterns, cutting table top showing tools, mat, and for me my curious cat! A large block in the center could be the sewing machine.

Does anyone know of a link to free applique patterns that they have tried?????

Is there a website for free applique patterns that anyone has used????????
